No Surprises.
No Guesswork.
Just Results.
Every TJC Remodeling project follows the same transparent six-step process — from your first call to the day you sign off on a finished space you love. Here’s exactly what happens, and when.
Written Proposal Before We Start
Every project begins with a detailed line-item proposal. You approve the scope and price before a single tool is picked up.
Confirmed Start Date, Always
We schedule a real start date — not a vague “a few weeks out.” You know exactly when your project begins.
Daily Progress Updates
Photos and a brief update every workday — especially valuable when you’re not home during the build.
Your Sign-Off, Not Ours
The project isn’t done until you’ve walked through every detail and approved the result. No exceptions.
Estimate
We Come to You — Free, No Obligation
Every TJC project starts with a real in-home visit — not a phone quote, not a ballpark number, not a “it depends” conversation. Jake or a senior team member visits your home, measures the space, reviews your existing conditions, listens to your vision, and answers every question you have. The estimate is always free and always in-person.
Typical Duration
30–60 minutes depending on project scope. Never rushed.
What to Have Ready
Any photos of styles you like, measurements if you have them, and your rough budget range. Nothing required — we’ll figure it out together.
What We Assess
Space dimensions, existing plumbing and electrical locations, structural conditions, and any issues that could affect scope or cost.
Material Samples
We can bring tile, cabinet, and countertop samples to the estimate visit if you’d like to start exploring options right away.
What you will get
- A thorough, unhurried site visit
- Honest assessment of what’s involved
- Answers to every question you have
- A clear sense of realistic budget range
What you won’t get
- High-pressure sales tactics
- A rushed “how soon can you sign” pitch
- Vague phone-estimate guesswork
- Any obligation to move forward
Written Proposal
See It Before We Build It
Within 2 business days of the in-home visit, you receive two things: a 3D rendering of your remodeled space, and a detailed written line-item proposal with flat-rate pricing. The 3D design lets you see your bathroom or kitchen with the actual tile, cabinet style, and layout you’ve chosen — before we order a single material. If you want changes, we make them at this stage — not during construction.
3D Rendering
A photorealistic view of your finished space — showing the tile pattern, cabinet style, countertop color, and layout exactly as we plan to build it.
Line-Item Proposal
Every cost itemized separately: demolition, materials, labor, fixtures, permits. No lump sums that hide surprises.
Delivery Timeline
Proposal delivered within 2 business days. For larger or more complex projects, up to 3 days to ensure full accuracy.
Revisions Welcome
Want to change the tile, swap the vanity style, or adjust the layout? We revise the design and proposal — no charge, no frustration.
“I appreciated the time Jake took to explain everything. They were always on time, worked neat & clean, and the results were excellent.”

Choose What Goes Into Your Home
Once you approve the proposal, we schedule a material selection appointment. You choose your tile, cabinet finish, countertop material, fixtures, and hardware from our curated sample collection — with guidance from our team on what works best together, what holds up in Arizona’s climate, and what fits your budget. Nothing gets ordered until you’ve confirmed every selection in writing.
Tile & Stone
Porcelain, natural stone, large-format, and mosaic samples in a wide range of styles and price points.
Cabinet Finishes
Door styles, wood species, and finish colors across stock, semi-custom, and full-custom cabinet lines.
Countertop Materials
Quartz, granite, marble, porcelain slab, and butcher block options — with honest guidance on durability and maintenance for each.
Fixtures & Hardware
Faucets, showerheads, handles, pulls, lighting, and mirrors — we can source or work with fixtures you purchase yourself.
Scheduling
We Handle the Paperwork, You Get a Date
Once materials are selected and the contract is signed, we take care of everything that needs to happen before construction begins. If your project requires a permit — structural changes, plumbing relocation, or electrical upgrades — we submit the full application to the relevant city or town building department. Materials are ordered. A dedicated project manager is assigned to your job. And you receive a confirmed start date.
Permit Management
We file, track, and schedule all required inspections with Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, or the applicable jurisdiction. You don’t lift a finger.
Material Ordering
All materials are ordered and received before your start date. We don’t start demolition and then discover a tile is backordered.
Project Manager Assigned
One dedicated point of contact from this step forward. Direct phone number. Responds same day.
Confirmed Start Date
A real calendar date — not “a few weeks out” or “weather permitting.” We commit to a start date and hold to it.
Daily Updates
Built Right. On Schedule. Kept Clean.
This is where TJC’s own crew — not subcontractors — builds your project. We protect adjacent floors and surfaces, contain demolition debris, and clean up at the end of each workday. You receive a progress update and photos every day we’re on-site, so you always know exactly where the project stands — even if you’re not home during the build.
Site Protection
Floors, doorways, and adjacent rooms protected. Dust barriers and floor coverings in place before demolition begins.
Daily Photos & Updates
End-of-day progress photos and a brief written update sent directly to you every workday — by email or text, your preference.
Our Own Crew
The same TJC team that estimated your job builds it. No last-minute sub handoffs, no strangers in your home you’ve never met.
Clean & Secure Daily
Work area cleaned and secured at the end of every workday. You can live normally in the rest of your home throughout the build.
“Hiring TJC to renovate both my master and guest bathrooms was a win. Open communication throughout, daily progress photos and emails while I was away. On-schedule delivery.”

Your Approval Is the Only Sign-Off That Counts
When construction is complete, we do a full final walkthrough together — every grout line, every fixture, every glass panel, every painted surface. If anything isn’t exactly right, we fix it before the project is considered closed. We don’t ask for final payment, and we don’t consider the job done, until you are satisfied with the result.
Full Detail Inspection
We walk through every element of the finished project together — not a quick walkthrough but a methodical room-by-room review.
Punch List Resolution
Any items that aren’t exactly right are documented on a punch list and resolved before we close the job — at no additional cost.
Warranty Documentation
Your written warranty (1-year parts, 2-year labor) is provided at final walkthrough along with all product documentation.
Post-Project Support
Questions after the project closes? Call us. Jake is reachable directly. We stand behind every project long after the tools are put away.
What’s guaranteed in writing
- 1-year parts warranty on all materials
- 2-year labor warranty on all work
- Punch list resolution at no cost
- Direct access to the owner post-project
What will never happen
- Final payment demanded before walkthrough
- Unresolved issues marked “acceptable”
- Warranty that disappears after a call
- Runaround when something needs fixing
How TJC’s Process Is Different from Most Contractors
Most remodeling horror stories trace back to a contractor who skipped steps, gave vague estimates, used subs, or disappeared after problems arose. Here’s what TJC does differently at each stage.
Written Proposals, Not Verbal Ballparks
Every line item documented before work begins. Materials, labor, scope, and timeline — all spelled out. If it’s not in writing, it doesn’t happen.
Our Own Crew, Not Subs
The team that estimates your project builds it. No rotating subcontractors you’ve never met. Consistent quality because consistent people do the work.
3D Design Before You Commit
You see the finished result before we order a single material. Changes are free and easy at the design stage. They’re expensive and disruptive during construction.
Daily Updates While We Build
End-of-day photos and progress notes every workday. You always know exactly where your project stands — whether you’re home or traveling.
No Change-Order Games
Your proposal price is your final price. Scope changes only happen with your written approval and an updated proposal. We don’t pad margins mid-project.
Direct Access to the Owner
Jake personally handles every estimate and stays involved in every project. You have his direct number — not a call center, not a project coordinator you’ve never met.
How Long Does a Remodel Take?
Realistic timelines for common TJC Remodeling projects in the Gilbert and East Valley area. All timelines are from construction start date — not from first contact.
* Timelines are from construction start. Permit lead times (if required) add 1–3 weeks before construction begins. All timelines confirmed in your written proposal.
The TJC
Guarantee
Every project TJC Remodeling completes is backed by a written warranty. Not a verbal promise — a written document that specifies exactly what’s covered, for how long, and what happens if something isn’t right.
We’ve been in business since 1978. Our reputation is the only thing that keeps clients calling and referrals coming. We don’t treat warranty claims as problems — we treat them as part of doing business the right way.
Provided in Writing at Final Walkthrough
Your warranty documentation is delivered with all product manuals and care instructions at the project close.
Jake Answers Warranty Calls Directly
No runaround, no “file a ticket.” Call Jake directly on any warranty issue and it’s handled promptly.
We Fix It — No Arguments
If a workmanship issue surfaces within the warranty period, we come back and fix it. Full stop.
Process Questions Answered
Common questions homeowners ask about how TJC Remodeling runs a project.

(480) 641-0628 office@tjcremodeling.com Mon–Fri 8am–4pm • Gilbert, AZWe respond to all inquiries within 1 business day — usually the same day or next morning. If you submit a form on a weekend, you’ll hear from us the next business day. For faster response, call or text us directly at (480) 641-0628.
We deliver your detailed written proposal within 2 business days of the in-home visit. For larger or more complex projects it may take up to 3 days to ensure full accuracy. You’ll always know when to expect it.
Scope changes are handled with a written change order that documents the change, any cost difference, and any timeline impact. You approve it before we proceed. We don’t make changes to your project without your written sign-off, and we don’t use change orders to pad margins — they’re only issued when the scope genuinely changes.
No — many of our clients travel or work during the build. We have a key or code for access, we protect the work area, and we send you daily progress photos and updates so you always know exactly what’s happening. We clean up at the end of each workday so the rest of your home remains livable.
We contact you immediately and transparently. If an unexpected condition is discovered — hidden water damage, a structural issue, outdated wiring — we document it, explain the options, and present a change order before proceeding. We never just “handle it” and surprise you with an invoice at the end.
Final payment is not due until the final walkthrough is complete and you have approved the finished project. We don’t ask for your final payment and then schedule a walkthrough — it’s the other way around. Your satisfaction is the condition for final payment.
Payment schedules are detailed in your written proposal and typically structured in three stages: a deposit at contract signing (to cover materials ordering), a progress payment at a defined construction milestone, and a final payment at completion after the walkthrough. The exact schedule is outlined before you sign anything.
